Your own booking address

In Plugin mode, the planning is shown in the studio’s website (see Embed the planning in your website), and booking, signing in, paying and the customer account happen on the studio’s Le Module site. This address is optional: it keeps customers from ever leaving the studio’s website. The pages can be served at a subdomain of the studio’s own domain, for example reservation.mystudio.com: the address shown then stays the studio’s from the first click to the confirmation, and the links in the emails sent to customers lead there.

The DNS zone of the domain must be editable, at the domain provider or through the web agency managing it. The address is always a subdomain: a bare domain such as mystudio.com cannot be used. To serve a whole website on its own domain, see Your site on your own domain.

Setting it up

  1. In the settings, Integration tab, enter the address in "Your own booking address", then "Use this address".
  2. Create the two records shown in the DNS zone, with their Copy buttons: a CNAME, which points the address to the platform, and a TXT, which proves the domain belongs to the studio.
  3. Wait: the platform checks the records every ten minutes, and the "Check now" button checks again at once. A record can take from a few minutes to a few hours to become visible.
  4. Once both records are found, the address is secured with HTTPS, within fifteen minutes. It then turns "Ready" and the studio’s administrators receive an email.

A domain managed at Cloudflare needs one precaution: the CNAME record must be set to "DNS only" (grey cloud), or securing it fails. The screen says so when it happens, as it does for any wrong value, giving the expected value.

Once the address is ready

  • The booking, sign-in, payment and customer account pages are served at the new address.
  • The links in the emails sent to customers and the planning’s booking links lead there. The previous address redirects to the new one, so links already sent keep working.
  • A customer already signed in on the previous address signs in once more on the new one.
  • The administration stays at its usual address.

Keeping the records

Both records must stay in place. The platform checks them every day. If one disappears, for example when changing web agency, the administrators are warned by email and customers are sent to the usual address until it is restored. If the TXT record stays missing for seven days, the address is suspended: restoring it is enough for it to be verified and secured again.

The "Remove this address" button puts the pages back at their usual address. The records can then be deleted from the DNS zone.
